IE6 Funeral

Alas, the day has finally come marking the death of IE6. At least according to Aten Design Group, who hosted an IE6 funeral.

Technically speaking, IE6 is still alive, but even Microsoft urges users to upgrade to the latest version of its browser. Simply put, the content of websites has evolved so much since 2001 that users who haven’t yet upgraded will seriously be missing all the great things the web has to offer.

Social networking sites see big increase in mobile users

A study by comScore on social network access via mobile browser shows triple digit growth over that past year. A couple of interesting points:

  • More than 30 Percent of Smartphone Owners Access Social Networking Sites via Mobile Browser
  • Facebook’s mobile browser audience surpassed MySpace in February 2009, 3 months before it did the same with it’s PC browser audience.

Increase convertible rentals by changing the weather

This sounds absolutely absurd, yet awesome at the same time: To promote rentals of convertibles, German rental company Sixt decided to literally bomb the clouds away from what is historically known as one of Europe’s wettest cities.
